A common greeting amongst the world of divers.
Cebu is one of the favorite dive spots in the world.
Meet my friend Bambi, far right,
one of our country's first lady dive instructors.
get your diving gears ready,
and let's go!!!!
ready for underwater ocean adventures?
Love Knows No Boundaries
Just recently, an underwater weddings was held 5 meters below sea level.
We even had a Catholic Priest Diver, who gave the blessings.
Why not? he claims.
You can be very-open minded and discover new ways in the field.
to be of service to God and humanity.
fish story???? Ah uh...it's true !!!
Here comes the bride....
The bride treads the water with flowers on her hair
while the groom waits a few meters away and together they make a descent.
The wedding entourage slowly follows.
Everybody takes their position while the colorful fish mutely witness the ceremony.
Since our vocal chords are not adapted to the conditions underwater,
the wedding is pantomime-like.
You can hear the sound of breathing and the eerie sound of some marine creatures
which results in a solemnity that is only possible in this venue.
Although it is largely a private affair not in any way solemnized by the Church of the state,
nature seems itself to bind the couple stronger.
The 10 Underwater Commandments
1. THOU SHALL NOT DANGLE.
Dangling life gear damages fragile marine life.
Dive gauge console, octopus regulator,
camera or slate that dangle should be properly secured.
2. THOU SHALL FLOAT, NOT CRAWL
To attain good buoyancy control is the key to considerate dive.
If you are naturally buoyant, you can control
not making contact with any living parts of the reef.
3. THOU SHALL FIN WITH CARE
Not being aware of where your fins land can leave trails of destruction to marine life.
Develop instinct that tells you where your fins are.
4. THOU SHALL NOT GRAB
Never grab marine lives that don't want to be grabbed.
If they want to, let them swim to you.
5. THOU SHALL NOT DISTURB
Allow marine animals to go on with their lives.
Do not disturb their comfort zone.
Interaction with marine life should be at their initiation.
6. THOU SHALL NOT THROW RUBBISH.
Never discard rubbish overboard.
Always carry a rubbish bin on board.
Whatever you take on board, please take them back on land to discard.
7. THOU SHALL BE CONSIDERATE
Always cooperate with your divemaster.
Attend briefing, and get ready for your dive on time.
Plan your dive and dive your plan. Do not exceed your plan time or depth
8. THOU SHALL BE SAFE FOR DIVING
Do not drink or smoke before dives.
Always keep fit and healthy and never dive when you do not feel well.
9. THOU SHALL NOT REMOVE ANYTHING
We are visitors to the underworld.
Respect this world that does not belong to us.
Do not remove corals, shells or anything from their world.
10. THOU SHALL ENJOY
Observing all above pointers, one can truly enjoy diving at no one's expense,
not the marine environment, other divers or the operator. Enjoy yourself;
make friends both above and under the water.
